Shirt to Stockbridge Top Sewing Pattern - How to refashion a work shirt to a top with lots of options - Full tutorial - no new buttons or zip!

£10.00

The Shirt to Stockbridge Top Pattern shows you how to take an existing large adult shirt and turn it into a stylish top. You get the benefit of beautiful professional tailoring (buttonholes/collar/cuffs) and all you need to do is some clever cutting and straight sewing. Don’t like buttonholes or zippers - no problem. The pattern has many variations - you design and decide! The top is fabulous made with an existing dinner/dress shirt (as was the case with our Pattern cover page). We recommend a 17”, 18” or 19” collar shirt (regular fit NOT slim fit) or bigger so you have plenty of fabric to use. Size L and larger will need a 18/19” collar shirt (regular NOT slim fit) or bigger. We recommend taking the pattern with you if you go thrift shop hunting to check the chest size is wide enough. Happy thrift shop/ebay hunting!

  • You can get really creative using different fabrics for ruffles and trimmings (adding Liberty print bias binding is a favourite).

  • No buttonholes or zippers to do!

  • Step-by-step instructions with photos and illustrations

  • Sizes XS (US4/UK8/EU36) to XXXL (US16/UK20/EU48)

  • Environmentally friendly: uses an existing adult shirt

  • Lots of options - With or without sleeves, cuff sleeves, collar (original, band or pleated), ruffle - you design and decide!

  • Includes a one page Quick Guide

  • PDF US Letter/A4 Print at Home Pattern plus option for A0 printing

  • Confident Beginner/Intermediate level - nothing is too difficult but you can choose the easier options (such as using the existing collar or the existing hem and cuff sleeves instead of mid-sleeves) until you feel more confident.

This is a Digital Download PDF Pattern and Instructions. You do not receive a physical product. On purchase, you will be able to immediately download the product and will also receive an email with a link to the download.

The Pattern Instructions and the Pattern Pages can be printed on a home printer (on A4 or US letter paper). For this pattern, you also receive the Pattern Pages in A0 format.

For cyber security, the download attached to the email is available for 24 hours but if you attempt to download it after this period then an email is automatically sent to you with a new link.

The product photographs contain a copy of the first 3 pages of the pattern instructions giving details on fabric requirements and sizing.
