Greyfriars and Grace

Slow fashion, fabric panels and sewing patterns.

If you decide to print the pattern pages and tape them together, please read these instructions on how to print the pattern pages.

The pattern pages are designed to print on either A4 or US Letter paper.

Each pattern tile measures 7 × 10 inches (17.78 × 25.4 cm), allowing it to fit within the printable area of both paper sizes.

Download and save the pattern pages PDF to your computer and open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader - this is important, do not download from Etsy and then press print.  You must save it to your computer/laptop and print from there using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Do not print directly from a web browser.

Select A4 or US Letter, according to the paper loaded in your printer.

Under Page Sizing & Handling, select Actual Size (100%).

Do not select Fit, Shrink to Fit, Scale to Fit or any other automatic scaling options.

Ensure the page is centred on the paper and check the print preview to confirm that the complete pattern is visible and centered.

Print the test page first and measure the test square to confirm the correct scale before printing the remaining pages.

Assembling the pattern

Trim the white paper margins along the rectangular pattern borders, then align the matching diamond shaped marks and lettered circles and tape the pages together in the order shown in the assembly diagram.

The complete pattern is also supplied as a large format file (usually A0 or 36" x 24") for professional copyshop printing.

Troubleshooting

If any pattern lines or registration marks appear cut off, or unwanted lines appear in the printout, check your paper size and print settings. Printing from Adobe Acrobat Reader using "Advanced - Print as Image" may help resolve printer compatibility issues. Keep the scale at Actual Size (100%) and recheck the test square.
